Shaio and the brand of S4, were inspired by it’s founders life changing and shattering news that he would receive 3 years ago in 2018. Pierre Stockman, is by many standards a typical kiwi dad, happily married, father of two young boys & Quarry Manager from Te-Kuiti, with an amazing zest for life and all it has to offer, was sadly diagnosed with Stage 4 Bowel Cancer. And as with most cancer sufferers, just like Pierre, his journey has been a long and arduous one. The surgeries, the chemo, the radiation therapy, all mixed in with the heart ache and anguish of seeing his family suffer because of this tortuous disease. Unfortunately, just as many cancer sufferers know, it doesn’t end there. Fast forward to 2022 and many more surgeries, this relentless disease has now spread and he remains in STAGE 4.

Pierre though has never given up and remains as positive everyday as he has through his whole journey, making him purely an inspiration to all those around him. Pierre and his family experienced first-hand how hard it can be to receive the access to the right resources, the right support and especially when you need it most. Simple things were sometimes take for granted. Travel expenses, food & accommodation for family members, right down to daily hospital parking fees. It all adds up! And when incomes are reduced to one instead of two, times can get REALLY, REALLY TOUGH!
